  1. Automatically populate ReadOnly and ReadWrite variables of Task Components based on the parameters.

For instance, I have created a Snippet so that I can quickly add a success/failure message line to a variable with the line including the TaskName and Current DateTime. I use a System Variable (TaskName) and a User Variable (EmailBody) in the process. Unfortunately, the ReadOnly and ReadWrite properties of the Script Task component don't get filled when the Script Task is created from the Snippet.

      • Notification Screen

The alert filter settings involve two files. First, the 'SSISAlerts_DataFile.txt' file which in my case is in the C:\Documents and Settings\MRSE\My Documents\BI xPress directory. This file serves as the dropdown list on the Notification screen where you can select which alerts you wish to be filtered. Once you select an alert to be filtered then that fact is stored in the Notification config file. In my case this config file is called 'Notification_Profile.dtsConfig' and in my case I filtered two alerts. Once you have selected alerts to be filtered that fact is stored in the XML in the config file…

                • Show matching packages in the deploy screen with color coding

When you display the packages in tree-view on Right hand side and left hand side, may be using COLOR coding (Red, Green,BLUE) may be helpful, and display which packages are alredy existing in Destination folder compared to SOURCE. Visual COLOR difference can be helpful. More like "WinDIff" functionality

Enhance the BI xPress DB to store date/time in UTC and then the client side version would convert the UTC to the client time zone.

                    • BI xPress: Create Variables In Expression Builder

Allow users to create new variables from within the Expression Builder. This would make it so that users don't have to go in and out of the screen just to create a new variable that they will later assign as needed to task, expressions, etc.

                        • TF Advanced Derived Column Transfrom: check result of an expression against data type

If you have an expression like this: iif(LOEVM = "X" or LOEVM = "1", "1", "0") and a Data Type DT_BOOL then the result at the test input will always show 1 or 0.
In reality the expression will always result in 0, because there is a conversion from a string to a boolean content.
So the correct expression would be iif(LOEVM = "X" or LOEVM = "1", 1, 0). The problem is, that it always looks like a working expression within the expression editor.

                                    • BI xPress Server, Notification Engine, the Severity is confusing.

The Severity options on the Notification (Server side) and Client are a bit confusing, especially when you add the selection boxes at the bottom of the client wizard for Error, Warning, etc.

Could you clarify or modify this so it's more user friendly.

                                      • BI xPress Server, Notification Summary Page

How do I know what notifications I’ve set up on each package? Is there a summary page or some way for me to know if I’ve set up 5 notifications on a single package?

It would be great if the Client version wizard, when selecting the Notification Engine – would fire off a web based page where you can view and apply multiple Notifications all at one time. This would eliminate some of the confusion when bouncing back and forth between Server and Client.
